Melody opened the door to her new home. Her bags were kind of heavy, but she could handle it. The house was white on the outside. It was kind of plain, but maybe the inside would be different. Well, at least she hoped. But, she couldn't control it, and she knew if the inside was empty with color, that would have to change. Or pink. Either one the walls would have to be painted over.
She walked in. Well, it was nice and cozy. The walls were a pale blue color. The floor was made of wood for the opening and went to rug in the living room. She took her shoes off, not wanting to ruin the nice color of almost an off-white color.
She carried her three bags into one of the bedrooms, well, at least that's what she thought. She plopped all her stuff on the floor. She looked up. The room was a nice purplish color. She didn't mind purple that much. She went over to the bag with all her stuff for the bed in it. She put on the covers and pillows and unpacked clothes.
As soon as she was done, she went outside. A garden lay outside and it made the bland house seem spotted in colors. She took a look up at the sky and saw not a single cloud in the sky. She took in a deep breath and let it out. She left the beautiful outside to go explore the rest of the estate, well, a small one at the very least. This house seemed huge to her since she was the only one here at the current moment in time.
She glided into the living room and tested out the couch. It was very comfy. She turned on the television and watched some cartoons.

Alexis was sleeping on her room, she loved to sleep till very late, she is not a morning person, she liked better to stay up late and then sleep through the whole morning. She pulled he cover from her so warm body and shivered. The weather wasn't as nice as she though it would be but she was hungry and wanted something to eat. She got up from the bed and picked up her robe involving it around her body s she could stay warm. She walked to the bathroom before walking to the kitchen, as she passed through the bedroom that was for her room mate, she saw some bags on top of the bed. She smiled, her room mate must of got here already. Melody her name was, she wasn't sure. She then heard the tv on the living room, she walked towards it and saw the girl sitting on the couch watching cartoons. She walked over to the couch. "Hi, I'm Alexis. You must be Melody, right?" She asked as she looked to the girl. "It's nice to finally meet you!" She said extending her hand to the girl.

She chuckled. Tom and Jerry was amazing. It was one of the things that always made her smile. The little mouse always out-smarting the big cat. But, she heard a door open and footsteps.
Hi I'm Alexis. You must be Melody, right? It's nice to finally meet you!
Melody looked back. It was a girl still looking as if she woke up from bed, but, it was still a little early. She had short red hair and greenish/brownish colored eyes. She smiled at her. This must be the person that she will be living with. She seemed nice enough.
"Hi. Yes, I am Melody, but you can call me Mel for short," she told her. "Nice to meet you too. How long have you lived here?"

Alexis looked up to the Tv, Tom and Jerry, her favorite, it made her laugh so hard and that was the only thing she laughed about this days. She then walked towards the couch and sit nex to her. "Okay, Mel! You can call me Alex for short to then. I moved in a couple of days ago!" She said as she rested her feet on the table, she had this quirk of doing it but it wasn't something she everyday or all the time. "You go to Barrington High, right?" She asked as she saw the little Jerry make Tom get trapped on the mousetrap making her laugh or how bad her screamed. "Oh Man, Tom is so dumb sometimes!" She said chuckling.

She told Mel that she moved in a few days before. Well, maybe she could help her get around, "Yes. I go to Barrington." She didn't try and say it with a sour tone because she knew why she was here. Her mom and sister. She held back a tear that was about to come out of her eye.
She turned her attention to the t.v. when Alex started to laugh once again. Tom got stuck in a mouse trap he had set for Jerry. She also joined in in the laughing. It never got old. Tom was a failure; Jerry was a genius. What could be so simple?
After a few minutes it went off. The next show that came on got her all hyped up, "No way! I thought that they removed this show off of the air years ago...Pinky and the Brain!"
Pinky and the Brain had been her favorite show to watch as a little kid. She always wanted to be Brain. He was smart. Pinky was an idiot, but hilarious though. Her sister would always say Pinky's line, 'What are we going to do today Brain?' then Mel would say 'What we try and do everyday Pinky, try and take over the world!'.
She smiled at the memory then looked back at Alex, "So, what grade are you in? I'm a tenth grader, well, sophomore." She was finally a sophomore in high school, but got stuck at the wrong school for all the wrong reasons.

Alex nodded, she knew the reason she was here but she didn't know who it was. She hated to know that people got send here because someone on her family died or got killed by something or someone. She just hated the fact that death existed, it is the thing that hurts the most. She looked up to her and see that she was about to cry but hold it all in. It must be someone very important! Se thought as she looked back to the Tv. This show she never saw in her life, it was weird but funny. "I'm in the sophomore too!" She said to her, she was happy she wasn't alone on her class anymore. She hated the fact that she was in a new school where she didn't know anyone. She missed her friends over at her school and her teachers and her locker, as weird as it sound she did miss all of these things but unfortunatly this had to happen and she had to be stuck in this school. "So, i have to ask! Why were you send here? Well you know..." She asked a little uncomfortable "Who died on you?" She asked looking to her hands.

Luckily, she was a sophomore too. That would be at least a little easier for her. She had been here the previous few days prior to her moving in. She liked that thought. She didn't want to just roam around the school, acting stupid and all.
Alex got kind of quiet when she asked the next question. Who died on you? The question stung her like a needle or a bee. She knew she wouldn't be able to keep it too herself for long, but she thought she would be able to hold it out for a little longer at least. Oh well.
"My mother and my sister," she felt her voice crack a little at the mention of her sister. Her mom was very supportive, but her sister was like her best friend. It was hard for her to mention her sister in conversation. The gas station incident left a horrible mental image in her head; and she wanted it out.
She saw there cold bodies being wrapped in the bag to take them away. Little kids being checked out by their mom's and dad's. Her dad just walked by her like he wasn't even touched. Then he had to send her away because she was too depressed? What kinda shit was that? Her mom and sister had just died. She didn't see them die, but she saw enough. Anyone would of been depressed, but apparently not her father. Stupid lawyer. He always had to be tough and not show any emotion. Even when she was named best volleyball player in middle school.
She felt a tear, but quickly wiped it away, "So, what about you?"

Alex tried not to cry as she said it was her mother and sister. "I'm so sorry!" She said as she put her hand on her back trying to calm her down. even though she wasn't crying she knew she was bronken inside and it killed her. "My grandmother, she was like a mother to me!" She said looking to the window that was on her right side. She still regreted that she had gone to school that day, the day that her grandmother passed away. She hated the fact that she was aloone and that there was nobody with her to help her through the pain. "Death sucks, doesn't it?" She asked. She always thought about it, as bad it looked she would always throught why death existed and why it was so painfull.

Alex's grandmother had died in her family. She said that she'd been like a mother to her. "Right. Death does suck. And when someone invents the first potion for immortality, I'll be the first in line."
She knew that would probably never happen, but she could dream, couldn't she? Mel knew that it was physically impossible though. A person's body couldn't take on that much pressure in one lifetime.
"Okay, let's get off this subject. Do you play any instruments or sports?" That was a good question. Simple and easy too.
She did play volleyball, but she really didn't feel up to it anymore after her mom and sister left the world. She was named the best of middle school and freshman year at her old schools, but after that day, it all died. She was sent here. She had to start with a new slate.
